Garden care is everything in the beds rather than on the lawn. Planting, pruning, mulching, feeding and the seasonal tidy-ups that stop a garden turning into a full weekend. We look after gardens for homes, schools and council spaces across Melbourne's western suburbs.

If you only do one thing to a garden bed, mulch it. A good layer holds water in through a western suburbs summer, keeps the soil temperature steady and stops most weed seed ever getting light. Beds that are mulched properly need a fraction of the weeding and a fraction of the watering.
It has to be deep enough to matter, and kept off the stems of the plants so they do not rot at the collar. We top beds up once a year, usually heading into summer.
Different plants want cutting at different times, and cutting at the wrong time is how people end up with a shrub that never flowers. Spring flowering plants get pruned straight after they finish. Summer flowering ones get cut in winter. Roses get a hard cut in July.
We also do the unglamorous version. Dead wood out, crossing branches out, anything hanging over a path or a driveway taken back so you can get past it.
Soil out this way is heavy clay in a lot of streets. Plants sulk in it because the roots sit wet. Turning compost and gypsum through a bed when we replant makes a real difference, and it is the step most people skip because the plant looks fine on the day it goes in.
Lawns and beds get fed heading into spring. It is cheap and it is the difference between a lawn that thickens up and one that goes patchy and lets weed in.
A lot of people have us through two or three times a year rather than on a regular run. Before Christmas, after winter, before an inspection. Beds weeded, plants pruned, mulch topped up, the whole garden pulled back into shape in a day.
Once a year for most beds, usually heading into summer so it is down before the heat. If the mulch has broken down to soil it is time.
July, hard. Spring flowering shrubs get done straight after they finish flowering, and summer flowering ones get cut back in winter.
Yes. A lot of our garden work is seasonal tidy-ups rather than a regular run. Two or three visits a year keeps most gardens on top of it.

We are so glad we went with Mitch's mowing. Very professional, great attention to detail, have already recommended him to others. Thanks again Mitch
Excellent service from Mitch and the team. Happy with everything from start to finish. They were easy to deal with, communicated well throughout the process, and delivered a great result. Highly recommend their services!
The neighbour's property manager sent Mitch and his team to trim a tree which was impacting our property. He rang when he was on his way, did a great job and left our garden spick and span. Thanks!
Mitch goes above and beyond every single time. Reliable, professional, and incredibly thorough. Our lawn has never looked better. Edges sharp, weeds gone, everything left spotless. He turns up when he says he will, communicates clearly, and delivers top-quality results without fail.
You deal with the team doing the work. No call centre, no booking app, no job handed to a subcontractor you have never met.
