Not on the list?

Call and ask. The list above is where we already have regular work, which means we are usually in those streets anyway and can fit you in without charging for the drive. If you are a street or two outside it we will normally still come, we just want to say that to you honestly rather than take the booking and then tell you later.

Where we will say no is a job that is an hour each way for half an hour of mowing. That is not fair on you either, because the travel has to go somewhere.

Why a local matters for a lawn

Soil out this way is heavy clay through a lot of the estates, and the newer suburbs like Deanside, Burnside Heights and Taylors Hill were farmland until recently. That means thin topsoil over clay, lawns that go patchy in their second summer, and garden beds that sit wet in winter and set hard in January.

Knowing that changes what we do. We cut higher through summer so the lawn shades its own roots, we push mulch harder than we would in an older leafy suburb, and we turn compost and gypsum through a bed before planting rather than dropping a plant into clay and hoping.

Homes, schools and council grounds

Alongside houses we maintain school grounds and council spaces out here. Those jobs need insurance, a WorkSafe approval and someone who turns up on a schedule rather than when they feel like it, which is the same standard we run on a residential lawn.
